By Invitation: Bravo Italiana @ I-Avenue

bi8The Pizza Rustica (RM33) was something new to me as the topping was mainly made up of anchovies. I had never tried pizza with anchovies so I was rather intrigued. The anchovies used here is salt cured so it tasted rather similar to our local ‘salted fish’. Most of us didn’t really like the anchovy as we found it too salty when biting into a whole chunk of it. Therefore, this pizza is now only available upon request. However, I did love the pizza base and the tomato sauce topping. So I would not hesitate to try out their other pizzas.

bi9The Salmon Simone (RM28) is an interesting dish. Pan fried salmon topped with an orange basil sauce. I found the salmon cooked to perfection. It was still nice and moist. However, I found the sauce rather wanting. It tasted rather bland to me and I would have loved a more citrus-y flavor to it. I would definitely order this dish again, but ask for the sauce on the side. 🙂

bi14Meanwhile, the Spaghetti Carbonara (RM24) was mediocre. The spaghetti was a tad bit overcooked, perhaps a slight miscalculation by the chef. The sauce was a drier type which was very creamy and rich. I would have loved to taste more herbs in this dish.

Now, onto my favourite part of the meal…. DESSERTS!! The tiramisu (RM12.80) is one of the house specialties.  It is indeed decadent. Though I do prefer the version at Bella Italia (more cream than cake)
