By Invitation: Bravo Italiana @ I-Avenue

bi4The Strawberry Panna Cotta (RM8.90) is HEAVENLY! I love love love this dessert to bits! The Panna Cotta may seem like an easy simple dessert – made up of only cream, sugar and milk, and then set in gelatin. And usually I would give this dessert a miss, preferring to try something else more exotic. But Bravo Italiana’s panna cotta is superb! It is creamy and smooth and fragrant. Sweet, yes. But paired with the sour strawberry topping…. all I can say is… you MUST try this!

bi3The Chocolate Mousse (RM8.90) is equally decadent. Chocolate-y, creamy and light at the same time, its given a dash of excitement with an addition of rum on top. I love this almost as much as the panna cotta! And that says a lot about the panna cotta when a chocoholic like me is willing to forego the chocolate mousse for the panna cotta! :p

biWhen I saw the Tequila Key Lime Pie (RM8.90) on the list, I was very excited to try it! Mainly because I had tried my hand at making this dessert minus the tequila shot (with rather disastrous results – it tasted good, just did not look presentable).  Also, you don’t see this dessert very often in Penang.

My first bite did not render me feelings of ecstasy (unlike the panna cotta). But this dessert grows on you. Its sweet on top (the whipped cream portion) balanced by the sour-y lime filling. A rather filling dessert.

bi5And what better way to end a meal than with a good cup of coffee? Well Bravo Italiana has certainly got an interesting coffee drink – the Cafe Romano (RM14). It is essentially coffee with orange liquor and topped up with vanilla ice cream.

Many thanks to PenangTuaPui for arranging this! All photo credits to Albert of Camo Studio (now you know why the photos are sooo good! lol)

What I loved: THE DESSERTS!! All four of them (especially the panna cotta, are you sick of me saying panna cotta yet? lol) Ah a word of caution though, only certain desserts available on different days. So it would be best to call up and ask what desserts they’re serving for the day.  I also loved the Mixed Bean Soup, the scallop and the Italiano’s Combination.

Bravo Italian is located at Complex I-Avenue, Medan Kampung Relau 1, 11900 Bayan Lepas, Penang. T: 04-6410499. Business Hours: 11.30am-3.00pm, 6pm-10pm. CLOSED ON SUNDAYS.
