The Steamed Pork Stuffed Snake Squash dish is another unusual dish to me, for I’ve not come across snake squash served anywhere else. The name may sound scary but don’t be detered from tasting it for it is in fact a very tasty vegetable! 🙂 Stuffed with pork and served with an egg sauce.
As with the set meal for four, this Romantic Package also comes with either rice or clear noodles. And I would strongly recommend that you try the clear noodles (dried version). Tasty just on it’s own! (in fact I’ve actually gone back to Young Heart last week and ordered the clear noodles!!)
For dessert, the Romantic Package comes with Golden Osmanthus Pumpkin Pudding (similar with the four pax package) but you can opt to ‘upgrade’ the dessert to a Mango Puree & Sago Pudding as pictured above for an additional RM1 each. The mango puree & sago pudding wins hands down for me as I’m a big mango fan. This dessert was made from real mangoes (no artificial flavourings!)
Complimentary home made mooncake biscuits with spicy dried prawn filling. Delicious!
Other than the dishes included in the set meals, we also got to sample two dishes – fiery hot noodles and Stir Fried Sambal Seafood with Fried Brinjal.
The Fiery Hot Noodles are indeed FIERY HOT! Spicy spicy spicy noodles coated with egg yolk. Tasty but a tad too spicy for my taste buds. However, if you love KL’s Chilli Pan Mee, then this would be a close cousin.
I loved this! Stir Fried Seafood Sambal with Fried Brinjal. The brinjal slices were nice and crisp, which paired very well with the spicy sambal sauce. A great snack to eat on its own or with rice!
