The recently re-opened Jazz Hotel Penang at Tanjung Tokong rolls out an exciting ‘Under the Sea’ Seafood Buffet that will certainly whet the appetites of seafood lovers. The buffet is available every Saturday from 7pm-10pm at their “Feast at Jazz” restaurant located on the 1st Floor of the hotel.
The buffet is priced at Rm108 nett per pax. Children (7-12 years old) & Senior citizen – Rm88 nett per pax. Children below 7 years old eat for free.
The buffet spread is generous with lots of variety to cater to the young and old, focusing on an array of seafood choices in numerous types of preparations, from fresh seafood on ice to local delights such as curry prawns, to the fiery action stations offering freshly pan fried seafood and shell fish.
The highlight of the buffet would definitely be the ‘seafood on ice’ section which features crowd favourites such as crabs, snow crab legs, various shell fishes, mussels, prawns, octopus and slipper lobsters.
The appetizers feature salads, pasembur, cold cuts and smoked fishes.
Moving on to hot dishes for the mains, the 2 choices of soups we had for the night were mushroom soup and tomyam soup. Some other mains include sweet & sour crabs, curry prawns as well as ‘ayam percik’.
Moving on to the action stations, diners could pick and choose from a variety of shell fishes and have them cooked in 2 sauces – ‘Masak lemak cili padi’ and ‘Sweet & Sour’
Masak lemak cili padi was a crowd favourite with its creamy and spicy flavours.
Meanwhile, the sweet & sour version was milder but would be more suitable for those who don’t take spicy foods. The action station also features fried char koay teow and pan fried seafood such as salmon, squid and prawns as well as chicken and sausages.
Pan fried seafood & chicken
Fried char koay teow – hot off the wok. Pretty good!
Spacious and cozy dining area at ‘Feast at Jazz’ awaits diners.
A designated kids corner is also available as part of the buffet spread with very cute car themed plates, kid friendly cutlery and non-spicy foods that most children would love.
Chilled drinks that are part of the buffet include fruit punch, fruit cocktail and detox water (to my delight! – unsweetened, fruit infused water)
In line with Jazz Hotel’s corporate color – a striking hot pink, the buffet spread also features an enticing pink chocolate fountain!
Pink tiramisu in the glass flutes were a lovely and delicious surprise!
For those who prefer some beer and wine to go with their meal, there is an option to add on these for an additional RM60 (free flow beer & wine)
Don’t miss their ice kacang too! I love the hot pink ice kacang machine~
