The Tom Yam Seafood Fried Noodle (RM8.50) definitely gave the soup version a run for its money. Some preferred the soup version, while this fried version had its own supporters. I would say… I like both! So my choice for next time would depend on my mood. 😛
For those who prefer something lighter, Kim Tavern also offers a few porridge dishes. We tried the Seafood Mushroom Porridge (RM7.90). It was served piping hot and the porridge was quite smooth. Just a bit salty for me though.
For those looking for a snack, do try Kim Tavern’s Honey Pepper Roast Chicken Drumlet (RM6.90 for 5 pcs). The moment this dish came out, wafts of delicious smells tickled our noses and we had had to hurry each other in the photography so that we could sink our teeth into it! The drumlets were really very appetizing! One is definitely not enough!
Kim Tavern also serves a variety of drinks and smoothies. The ones we tried were:
FRUIT JUICE / COLD DRINKS
D16 Fresh Carrot-Orange (RM3.50)
D20 Honey Lemon Ice (RM3.80)
SMOOTHIES
D29 Mango Smoothies (RM5.50)
D32 Wheatgrass Smoothies (RM5.50)
SPECIAL ICE BLENDED
D40 Peppermint Mocha (RM7.80)
D41 Blueberry chocolate (RM7.80)
D42 Hazelnut Latte (RM7.80)
D43 Almond Latte (RM7.80)
D44 Tiramisu (RM7.80)
Out of those drinks, my personal favourites were the Blueberry Chocolate, Mango Smoothie, Wheatgrass Smoothie (oh so healthy!) and the Honey Lemon Ice.
Andy has previously operated another eatery outlet in Megamall Pinang. And his experience in the food business is quite evident. Despite the crowd, service was brisk and food was served in a timely manner.
With economical prices, delicious tasty food and a comfortable cheery environment (with Free Wifi too!), Kim Tavern is set to scale great heights!
Many thanks to Andy for hosting us, and to CK and Taufulou for the invite! 🙂

Hi Lingzie
Try Friendship Cafe in Chai Leng Park. The nasi lemak with chicken rendang is good. It is cooked with eveporated milk instead of coconut milk. There are other items which are nice as well. The cafe is next to Hong Leong Bank. The food is more orginal, unlike those cafe food which looks more like microwave or instant food.
